


Kansas Wesleyan dropped its football season finale to the University of Saint Mary Spires 21-16 on Saturday afternoon at Salina Stadium.
Coming off another career day on the gridiron, Kansas Wesleyan's Brett Giesen was named the KCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week and the NAIA National Offensive Football Player of the Week for his efforts in the Coyotes' 38-37 win over McPherson College on Saturday in McPherson.
McPHERSON – Another week, another wild finish for the Kansas Wesleyan Football team. After last week's near meltdown against Southwestern, the Coyotes nearly repeated things again holding on for dear life in a 38-37 win over the McPherson Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at McPherson Stadium.
After posting a career day statistically in Saturday's 45-35 win for the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes over Southwestern College, Brett Giesen has been named as the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in helping the Coyotes to the win.
Kansas Wesleyan led 45-14 three seconds into the fourth quarter after Brett Giesen's 1-yard touchdown run, his fourth of the day. Then the Coyotes held on for dear life as Southwestern scored 21 unanswered points. Wesleyan was able to come away with the 45-35 win over the Moundbuilders on Saturday afternoon at Salina Stadium.
Kansas Wesleyan's Taylor Sachs was selected as the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference's Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 68-7 win over Bethel College in North Newton.
