The Kansas Wesleyan softball team closed its regular season with a pair of run-ruled wins over Haskell Indian Nations University on Friday afternoon at Bill Burke Park in Salina. In windy conditions, with gusts sometimes over 40 m.p.h., but relatively warm temperatures, the Coyotes won the opener 11-3 in five innings and cruised 14-0 in the nightcap, also in five innings over the Indians, giving Wesleyan its first 30-win season since 1992.

The Kansas Wesleyan Softball team honored its two seniors, Sara Weber and Ashleigh Roberts in between games with Baker University on Tuesday afternoon at Bill Burke Park in Salina. On the field, the Coyotes and Wildcats split the two games of the doubleheader as Baker won the opener 5-1 and the Coyotes rallied to take the nightcap 9-2.

Kansas Wesleyan wrapped up the Kansas Conference portion of its schedule on Saturday afternoon against Friends University at Bill Burke Park in Salina. It was the Falcons who came away with a two-game sweep of the Coyotes 4-0 and 11-4 to sweep the season series over Wesleyan.

It was not a fun day to watch a pair of softball games. With temperatures hovering in the upper 40's and the wind blowing from the north, viewing conditions were less than ideal for Tuesday's softball doubleheader between Kansas Wesleyan and Sterling. However, the Coyotes sent the fans that braved the conditions home with a warm fuzzy feeling as Wesleyan swept the Warriors 9-5 and 8-6 at Bill Burke Park in Salina.

Kansas Wesleyan Softball continued its much improved 2011 season with a split with the McPherson College Bulldogs on Saturday at Bill Burke Park in Salina. The Coyotes came away with the game one win 3-2, but dropped the nightcap 4-3 to the Bulldogs.

For the sixth time in its last eight games, Kansas Wesleyan shutout its opponent on the softball diamond. The Coyotes posted two shutout wins over the Tabor College Bluejays, 3-0 and 4-0, on Wednesday evening at Bill Burke Park in Salina.
