Rascon’s marathon wraps up Wesleyan’s weekend at NAIA track nationals

Mike Rascon finished 32nd in the men's marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track National Championships

MARION, IND. – It was a marathon day for Kansas Wesleyan’s Mike Rascon…literally. Rascon ran the men’s marathon on Saturday at the NAIA Outdoor Track National Championships, wrapping up KWU’s experience at the 2010 event.

Rascon, a senior from Tucson, Ariz., finished 32nd in the 26.1 mile race in 2:54:33.80, just five seconds behind Ben Hall from Montreat (N.C.). Jeff Jackson from The Masters (Calif.) won the race with a 2:31:44.30.

Rascon was part of the KWU contingent at the NAIA National Championships that including Nate Mesta in the men’s 1500 meters, Cherise Price in the women’s 1500 meters and the women’s 4 x 800m relay team that included Price, Crystal Stegman, Kara Walker and Julina White.
