
AMES, Iowa – The Kansas Wesleyan Indoor Track team continued its 2012 season at the Iowa State Open on Friday and Saturday at the Lied Recreation Center on the Iowa State campus.
Chase Wiedel recorded a new personal best in the indoor 5000m with a 16:42.59 on Friday evening and in the 3000m on Saturday morning just missing his personal best with a 9:23.66.
Cody Martus ran both the 600-yard run and the 800m, setting personal bests in both races. He finished the 600-yard run in 1:18.15 and ran a 2:01.13 in the 800m.
Tara Davis also ran the 600-yard run and the 800m, setting a personal best in the 600-yard run with a 1:37.11 and running a 2:35.47 in the 800m.
"It was a great meet with very stiff competition," Wesleyan coach Brent Bailey said "The only conference school at the meet was Ottawa and I was excited to see my runners ahead of them. It's definitely is a good sign as we get closer to the KCAC Indoor Championships."
The Coyotes are back on the track this Friday in Lawrence at the Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas.
