OKLAHOMA CITY – The Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf team finished in ninth place in its first tournament of the fall season on Tuesday and Wednesday at Lake Hefner Golf Course in the Southwestern Christian Fall Invitational.
The Coyotes were just a shot out of eighth place with a team combined score of 595. Oklahoma Baptist captured the team title, shooting a combined 546, 22 shots under par, to win by 13 shots.
Clinton Moore led the Coyotes tying for 11th with a 141. Tyler Clark tied for 27th with a 147. Cody Crabtree, Joel Weis and Blake Cormack all tied for 52nd with a score of 155, while Tanner and Tyler Jones tied for 65th with a 163. Cameron Staples followed with a 164 in 67th to round out the finishers for the Coyotes.
Southwestern Christian's Marshall Golowenski won the individual title, shooting a 10-under 132, that included a first round score of 63, to win by two shots.
Wesleyan is back in action on Monday and Tuesday when the Coyotes head to McPherson to play in the Central Christian College Tournament at Turkey Creek.
