The Kansas Wesleyan Indoor Track team ran its final regular season indoor meet of the year on Friday night at the Kansas Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence.
Due to the fact that the meet was loaded with fast runners from Florida to Texas, the Coyotes only ran their upper classmen in the meet.
"We are running faster times then we did here last year and things are setting up for a very exciting conference championship in two weeks," Wesleyan coach Brent Bailey said.
Hillary Callaway posted a 5:41.10 in the mile run. Hunter Stayton posted a 4:38.23 in the mile as well. Tara Davis ran a 2:32.94 in the 800m, and Cody Martus ran a 2:02.22 in the 800m.
Chase Wiedel looked strong with a 12 second season best finish in the 3000m with a 9:08.12.
Another great moment came in the women's distance medley relay when they improved their time by 3 seconds, finishing in 13:35.77.
The Coyotes are off for two weeks to prepare for the KCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 8 and 9 at Ahern Fieldhouse on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan.
