WICHITA – The Kansas Wesleyan Men's Basketball team was picked to finish tenth by both the coaches of the KCAC and the media outlets covering the conference on Tuesday afternoon at KCAC Basketball Media Day at the Airport LaQuinta Inn and Suites in Wichita.

Wesleyan is coming off a 3-26 season last year, the first under coach Chris Fear, but looks towards a much improved product on the floor this season. The Coyotes revamped the team from a year ago, building on core group of returners along with a strong group of newcomers.

The top six picks in both polls were the same as Saint Mary was the favorite, followed by McPherson, Ottawa, Tabor, Sterling and Friends.

Saint Mary was the unanimous pick in the coaches' poll scoring the maximum possible 90 points and nine first place votes. Southwestern was picked seventh in the coaches' poll, followed by Bethany, Bethel and Wesleyan.

The Spires were also picked as the favorite by the media, scoring 88 points and seven of the nine first place votes. Bethany was picked seventh, followed by Southwestern, Bethel and Wesleyan.

The Coyotes open the season on November 1 at home against Haskell Indian Nations University at 7:30 p.m., at Mabee Arena.
